Arriva is one of the main public transport operators in Europe:
- It operates in 12 countries of the European Union [1]: Spain, UK, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
- It provides bus, train, commuter coach, waterbus and airport related transport services.
- It caters for more than one billion daily travellers every year.
- It has a staff of over 40,000 professionals [2].
- It has over 15,000 buses [3] and 500 trains [4]
In Spain
- Arriva has, in Spain, 445 buses and a team of over 1,000 professionals.
- Its executive director is Tony Williamson.
- Arriva offers bus transport both regular and chartered in Galicia, Mallorca and Madrid.
- In Galicia, Arriva Noroeste is the main bus operator in the north of the Community, with 142 vehicles and 240 employees.
- In Mallorca, Arriva integrates the operators Autocares Mallorca [5]y Bus Nord, the main bus service suppliers in the north of the island, with 39 vehicles and 47 professionals.
- In Madrid, Arriva is one of the first bus operators of the Community, with the regular services of the company De Blas y Cía [6] and the chartered services of Grupo Esfera [7] and Autocares Fray Escoba, managing a total of 264 buses and a staff of 782.
